2019-2020 Scholarship Renewal Criteria

 

Several criteria changes for scholarships have been put into place for the 2019-2020 academic year. These changes are a result of the challenges presented by COVID-19 and designed to help students achieve their academic goals.

We’ve listed revised criteria by scholarship and supplied contact information for each grouping. Should you have additional questions please feel free to contact our financial aid office directly at finaid@uafs.edu.

 

UAFS Merit* & Transfer Scholarships**

  • Academic Distinction (3.0 GPA)
  • Academic Excellence (3.0 GPA)
  • Academic Opportunity (2.5 GPA)
  • Sebastian County Academic (2.5 GPA) Opportunity
  • AR Scholar (2.8 GPA)
  • Transfer Achievement (3.0 GPA)
  • Phi Theta Kappa (3.0 GPA)

 

UAFS Merit & Transfer Scholarship Criteria

  • Received Merit Award for Spring 2020
  • Be otherwise eligible in terms of number of semesters awarded
  • Credit hours passed in fall 2019 and credit hours enrolled in as
    of March 20, 2020 must be 24 or higher (If not, student may choose
    to take summer courses to reach 24 hour minimum.)
  • Achieve cumulative GPA required to retain specific scholarship.

  Chancellor’s Leadership Council (CLC)  
Scholarship (3.0 GPA)

 

CLC Criteria

  • Maintain 2.0 GPA for each major term
  • Maintain 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Meet GPA requirements with grades and/or
    Spring & Summer Pass/Withdraw option
  • Accumulate 30 credit hours each academic
    year between the fall semester and end of summer II term

Myles Friedman Honors Program (MFHP)
 Scholarship & STEM Scholarships (3.0 GPA)  

 

MFHP & STEM Scholarship Criteria

  • Maintain 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Meet GPA requirement with grades and/or Spring
    Pass/Withdraw option
  • STEM - Maintain full-time status (24 credit hour/year minimum)
  • Friedman - Maintain full-time status (27 credit hour first year – 30
    credit hour/year subsequent years)
  • Meet credit hour requirement between the fall semester and end
    of summer II term

  • Roland S. Boreham Jr. Engineering (3.0 GPA)

 

UAFS Foundation Donor Established Scholarship Criteria

  • Maintain 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Maintain full-time status (30 credit hour/year minimum)

  AR Challenge Scholarship  

 

AR Challenge Scholarship Criteria

  • If you were enrolled in the required number of hours on MARCH 20, 2020, you meet continued eligibility criteria for Fall 2020 semester.  This means, you must have earned the correct number of hours in the FALL 2019 semester.  If you compensated for fewer hours in Fall 2019 by enrolling in extra hours during the Spring 2020 semester and were still enrolled in the required hours (plus the make-up hours) on March 20, 2020, you have met eligibility.  If you were not enrolled in the required hours in Fall 2020 and planned to make up those hours in the Summer 2020 term, you will need to enroll in the correct number of deficient hours for the summer to maintain eligibility.
